Home Alone

Home Alone is a Christmas classic that everyone needs to see at least once. Following Kevin McCallister as he wakes up to find his family accidentally left for vacation without him, he must navigate living alone with one problem – two burglars who are trying to rob the place. Hilarity and chaos ensues as Kevin comes up with creative ways to keep them at bay, all while his mother is trying desperately to get back home to him. Home Alone is available for streaming on Disney Plus. 

The Nightmare Before Christmas

The Nightmare Before Christmas is a stop-motion film from the imagination of Tim Burton, that tells the story of Jack Skellington, the King of Halloween Town. When Jack stumbles into the alternate world of Christmas Town, he is enchanted by what he sees, and decides to bring Christmas back with him. The residents of Halloween Town are not so keen on this idea however, and Jack’s take on Christmas threatens to ruin the holiday altogether. The Nightmare Before Christmas is streaming on Disney Plus. 

Love Actually

Love Actually follows eight very different couples as they navigate love, loss, conflict and drama. Starring Emma Thompson, Keira Knightly, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant, Love Actually has plenty of jokes, emotion and hope to satisfy everyone. Love Actually is available to watch on Netflix.

Single All The Way

Netflix original movie, Single All The Way is about unlucky in love Peter who asks his best friend Nick to come home with him for the holidays. While Peter’s mother schemes to find him a boyfriend, the rest of the family is nudging Peter and Nick closer together. With Christmas spirit and a dash of magic, the pair start to question if their friendship could develop into something more. Single All The Way is available to watch on Netflix. 

The Holiday

From the acclaimed director, Nancy Meyers, The Holiday is one of those films you can watch again and again. Following two strangers who live on opposite sides of the globe, Amanda (Cameron Diaz) and Iris (Kate Winslet) decide to exchange homes over Christmas to escape their heartbreak. The Holiday is available for streaming on Amazon Prime. 

The Polar Express

The Polar Express is a Christmas movie for the whole family. When a boy wakes up on Christmas night to see a train arriving outside his window, he is taken on an adventure of a lifetime to the North Pole. While the train faces many trials and tribulations along the way, the boy and several other children make it to see Santa’s workshop. The Polar Express is available for streaming on Amazon Prime. 

Christmas On The Farm

A Stan original film, Christmas On The Farm is about Emmy Jones (Poppy Montgomery), a struggling New Yorker who decides to base her book on her late mother’s journals. But there’s just one problem, she’s written the book as if she really was her mother, who lived on her Queensland farm with her husband and Emmy when she was a child. When Emmy’s publisher and her handsome son arrive on the farm, Emmy must pretend to be her mother Clementine or risk losing her book deal. Christmas On The Farm is streaming on Stan. 

The Grinch Who Stole Christmas

Another one for the ages, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas brings the Dr Seuss classic to life, with a cast featuring Jim Carrey, Taylor Momsen, Christine Baranski and Jeffrey Tambor. The film tells the story of secluded loner, the Grinch, after a six-year-old resident of Whoville, Cindy Lou Who has a run-in with him at her father’s work. In an effort to cure him of his hatred of Christmas, Cindy nominates The Grinch for the town’s Holiday Cheermeister. The Grinch is available on Stan.

Christmas With The Kranks

When Christmas lovers the Kranks hear their daughter isn’t coming home for Christmas, they decide to scrap the holiday altogether and go on a cruise instead, much to their neighbours’ dismay. With their annual Christmas Eve party cancelled, decorations kept stored away and gifts forgone, The Kranks are ready to set off on their holiday. But, just as they are about to leave, their daughter calls and says she changed her mind and wants to come home for Christmas. With just 12 hours left, The Kranks must perform a miracle to put together their usual Christmas festivities. Christmas With The Kranks is streaming on Binge. 

How to Make Gravy

Based on the smash hit song by Paul Kelly, How to Make Gravy tells the story of Joe, a man spending Christmas in jail away from his family. As his family grapples with life without him, Joe writes to his brother Dan about how much he wishes he was with them and making gravy for the roast. How to Make Gravy is available to watch on Binge.
