Vodafone refer a friend

Vodafone’s refer-a-friend program can cut up to $250 off your bill

Vodafone is kicking off the new year with a new incentive for customers: the launch of its ‘Refer a Friend’ program. This program offers incentive for existing Vodafone customers to refer friends and family to a Vodafone plan, with bill credit on offer as a reward.

Existing Vodafone customers on eligible phone and internet plans will have a referral code that they can give to five friends (per year) to use when they sign up to a Vodafone plan as a new customer. Both you and your friend will receive credit on your bill, with the credit amount differing between services.

For new customers referred to Vodafone for a phone or tablet on a plan, $50 credit is on offer to both the existing customer and the new customer. All other services, including SIM-only plans, NBN and both 4G and 5G home internet, will score $25 in bill credit for the new and existing customer. This means as an existing Vodafone customer, you can score up to $250 each year in bill credit if you refer five friends to phone/tablet on a plan service. This program does not include prepaid mobile services.

Once your friend has activated their service, they will need to stay connected for a minimum of three months, as credit will be applied after the new customer has received their third monthly bill. The five referrals will also renew after 12 months, so earning credit off your bill isn’t limited to one year or just five friends.

Existing Vodafone customers can find their unique referral code and keep track of their referrals in their My Vodafone account.

What about other refer-a-friend programs?

While similar programs are nothing new in the telco space — with providers like Aussie Broadband offering refer-a-friend programs for some time — finding the programs might be a little tricky.

Not all telcos, whether they offer phone or internet plans, or both, will promote their refer-a-friend programs, so it might be worth checking to see if your current phone or internet provider offers this by looking around on the provider’s website.

If you have a friend or family member who has been considering a new phone or internet plan, and you’re happy with your current provider, these programs can provide a little bit of bill relief. Be sure to read through the fine print to make sure you’re both meeting the conditions of the program, including any minimum length of time your friend or family member needs to keep their service active.
