Vodafone launches 5G phone price beat guarantee

Update: As of November 12, 2024, Vodafone’s 5G price beat guarantee will no longer be available. However, customers can still claim a price beat guarantee on TPG’s high-speed NBN plans as described below.

Vodafone has introduced a new smartphone price beat guarantee, offering customers $10 off all 5G devices if a competitor has a lower price.

The guarantee applies to prices from major competitors Telstra, Optus, Apple and Samsung. Here’s a breakdown of what the offer entails and how customers can take advantage of it.

What is the Vodafone price beat guarantee?

If a customer purchases a 5G smartphone from Vodafone and then finds the same handset at a lower price from an eligible competitor, Vodafone will not only match that price but beat it by an additional $10.

How can I make a Vodafone price beat guarantee claim?

To benefit from the price beat guarantee, customers must follow these steps:

  • Purchase a 5G device: Buy a 5G phone from Vodafone, either in-store or online.
  • Find a lower price: If the customer finds the same device at a lower price from an eligible competitor within five days of purchase, they can claim the price beat guarantee.
  • Provide proof: The customer must present proof of the lower price, such as a link to the competitor’s website or an official price listing.

The claim must be submitted on Vodafone’s website within five days of the initial purchase. Vodafone will then verify the competitor’s price and, if eligible, will adjust the customer’s payment plan to reflect the $10 discount over the term of the plan.

Who is eligible for Vodafone’s price beat guarantee?

The price beat guarantee covers prices from major competitors including Telstra, Optus, Apple and Samsung. It is important to note that the offer excludes prepaid devices, meaning only phones bought with a payment plan or outright through Vodafone’s official sales channels are eligible. Additionally, the guarantee does not apply to prices found on auction sites, marketplaces, or other non-retail settings.

Terms and conditions

  • The price beat guarantee cannot be combined with other promotions or discounts offered by Vodafone.
  • It only applies to new 5G mobile phones and not to refurbished or used devices.
  • The offer is limited to one claim per customer per device.
  • The competitor’s price must be available to the general public and not require any special membership or group affiliation.

Amidst the 3G network shutdown across the country, the price beat guarantee offers peace of mind to customers, ensuring they get the best possible price on their new 5G mobile phone.

For more detailed information on the terms and conditions of the price beat guarantee, customers can visit Vodafone’s website.

Vodafone offers a large selection of 5G-ready devices, including the latest iPhone 15 and Samsung Galaxy S24 ranges. Customers can pick up their phones on a Vodafone payment plan, which allows you to pay off the device’s cost in 12, 24, or 36 monthly instalments.

To be eligible for Vodafone’s price beat guarantee, you’ll need to pair your new phone with one of the telco’s SIM-only postpaid plans. Plans begin at $49 per month for 50GB of high-speed data.

If you’re in the market for a 5G phone, Telstra offers customers a 7 Day Price Match. Customers who purchase a postpaid phone or tablet from Telstra, either outright or on a payment plan, can have their device cost matched by Telstra if they find a cheaper price from an eligible retailer within seven days.

You’ll need to submit an online price match claim form to qualify, which includes the IMEI of your Telstra-bought device, as well as proof of the lower competitor price. The offer is available on brand new phones and tablets sold by established Australian businesses with a physical store.

It’s important to note that Telstra will only match the device price, not beat it. More information, plus terms and conditions, is available from Telstra.
