Samsung Galaxy S24 FE: Design and display

The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE offers a boosted display when compared to last year’s S23 FE, coming in at 6.7 inches (up from 6.4 inches). The S24 FE includes a fast 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, along with Vision Booster for better and brighter viewing in sunlight.

The phone’s design includes slimmer bezels, so you’ll get a better screen-to-sides ratio. It’s an overall similar design to the premium S24, with Mint, Blue and Graphite colours available.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE: Cameras

The FE comes with a triple rear camera setup, along with a 10-megapixel front-facing selfie cam. In the back, you’ll get a big 50-megapixel main lens, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 8-megapixel telephoto lens for up to 3x optical zoom. Most importantly, this is the first Galaxy FE to include Samsung’s AI-boosted ProVisual camera engine, which offers enhanced low-light photos, more detailed close-ups, and better editing tools.

Samsung’s AI processing makes Nightography more accurate, delivering brighter shots in dark conditions. It also works to maintain image quality when you’re using the FE’s digital zoom, so you won’t lose features when snapping pics from a distance. AI can also be used on a variety of editing options: for example, making generative edits to existing pictures, transforming portraits to sketches or cartoons, or quickly removing or editing objects and people.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE: Performance and battery

Samsung has packed the S24 SE with its Exynos 2400e chipset, which offers a smooth multi-tasking experience. The gaming-focused device enables ray tracing for improved light and shadow in graphics, and includes a larger vapor chamber to prevent overheating.

However, Samsung’s Galaxy AI is the star of the show and FE users can access the same AI features as found on pricier S24 models. Some of the Galaxy AI’s time-saving tools include:

• Circle to Search: Search for details in photos or media with a circle or tap of the screen
• Live Translate: Live, two-way voice and text translations
• Interpreter: Instant translations of live conversations
• Chat Assist: Offers suggestions for messages, emails and social posts
• Note Assist/Transcript Assist: Automated transcriptions and summaries of recordings, articles or notes

Samsung has also increased the FE’s battery, jumping from 4,500mAh in the S23 FE to 4,700mAh in this year’s model. The S24 FE’s battery offers up to 28 hours of video playback per charge, and is compatible with Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 and Wireless Powershare.

As with all Samsung Galaxy devices, the S24 FE is protected by the Samsung Knox security platform. It’s also designed to last you longer, receiving seven generations of OS upgrades, along with seven years of security updates.
