Expert guide: Everyday Mobile phone plans

Previously known as Woolworths Mobile, Everyday Mobile from Woolworths has been one of the more well-known smaller telcos to offer phone plans. The telco had initially offered its phone plans on the Optus mobile network, but switched to the Telstra network in 2015.

Everyday Mobile, when it was still under the Woolies branding, had previously offered a full suite of phone plans including SIM-only prepaid and postpaid plans, along with mobile phones on a plan. However, with the rebrand to Everyday Mobile, it dropped its phone-on-a-plan offerings to focus on SIM-only services.

Keen to find out more about an Everyday Mobile phone plan? In this guide we’ll take a look at what you can expect from when it comes to plans, prices and more.

Everyday Mobile expert guide

Looking at what kind of value for money you can get from a telco’s phone plans can help give you an idea of what to expect and how the telco compares. Here are some of the pros and cons of the Everyday Mobile phone plans.

Pros:

  • Prepaid and postpaid SIM-only plans available
  • Data banking included on all plans
  • 5G access on all postpaid SIM-only plans
  • Data gifting available
  • 10% discount on in-store Woolworths shop each month
  • Discounted pricing for Everyday Rewards members

Cons:

  • Postpaid plan prices are rather expensive (prices start at $40 per month)
  • Woolworths shop discount requires you to connect an Everyday Rewards account
  • Mobile speeds (both 4G and 5G) are capped at 100Mbps or 250Mbps
  • 5G isn’t available on prepaid plans

Services offered

Everyday Mobile offers a selection of SIM-only plans, available as postpaid and prepaid plans. The prepaid plans are available as 30-day plans, or long-term plans over 180 or 365 day expiry periods.

It’s one of the few telcos to offer both prepaid and postpaid plans, and its plan selection is reasonably simple. Everyday Mobile has a lot to offer customers, so it could be worth considering if you’re looking for an alternative to the big three telcos.

Network and coverage

Everyday Mobile uses parts of the Telstra 4G and 5G mobile network, which covers over 23 million Australians. So the good news is, if your area is covered by the Telstra network, Woolworths Mobile is an alternative provider to the big telco, with coverage available to more than 98.8% of Aussies.

Keep in mind that 5G is only available on the postpaid plans, and 5G network coverage isn’t as widespread as 4G. To check the network coverage in your area, you can check the network coverage map on the Everyday Mobile site.

Special features and bonuses

While Everyday Mobile offers a fairly straightforward selection of plans, there are some extras available on these plans.

  • Data banking: Up to 1,000GB of data banking is available on postpaid plans, while up to 500GB of data banking is available on 30-day and long-term prepaid plans.
  • Data gifting: You’re able to use up to 50% of your included data to gift to another Everyday Mobile customer in 1GB increments. Gifted data can’t be re-gifted and will be used before any included data.
  • 10% off your grocery shop: Everyday Mobile customers with an Everyday Rewards account can save 10% on one in-store Woolworths grocery shop per month, to the value of $500, with a maximum of $50 saving per month.
  • International calls: Unlimited standard international calls and text for 22 selected countries is available on the prepaid plans, while postpaid plans can access calls to 30 select countries. Countries include: China, Canada, Hong Kong, South Korea, Ireland, India, Thailand, New Zealand, the UK and USA.
  • International roaming: Four roaming packs are available to add on to your plan, although the 10-day and 15-day packs are only available for postpaid customers. Prices and inclusions vary between the roaming packs and start at $7 for one day and go up to $75 for 15 days.
