Dyson is venturing further into the world of audio technology, announcing the upcoming release of its OnTrac headphones. The customisable headphones boast a 55-hour battery life, which is one of the best on the market, and allow you to mix-and-match colours of the outer caps and ear cushions, so you can essentially design your own pair.
While the appliance giant is yet to share an official release date or price for the headphones, its previous headphone release, the Dyson Zone Absolute+ Noise Cancelling headphones, retails for $1,099, indicating the OnTrac won’t come cheap.
Dyson OnTrac headphones key features:
- Active noise cancellation (ANC): 8 ANC Microphones, 40dB noise cancellation
- Long battery life: Up to 55 hours
- Quick charging: 10 Minutes of charging offers 2.5 hours of listening and 30 minutes offers 9 hours of listening
- Customisable design: Mix and match caps and cushions
- Comfortable fit: Ear cushions made with microfibre and high rebound foam
- App-controlled: Control the headphones through the MyDyson app
One of the most enticing features of the OnTrac is its high degree of personalisation. The headphones are available in four colours (CNC Aluminium, CNC Copper, Ceramic Cinnabar, and CNC Black Nickel) and you can then purchase outer caps and ear cushions in different colours for an additional cost. This is a unique feature in the high-end headphone market and is sure to appeal to audiophiles who want to make a statement.
While the headphones appear large compared to other designs on the market, Dyson says the OnTrac has been tested on a range of head sizes to deliver comfortable listening for hours. Like other Dyson products, the headphones can be controlled through the Dyson app, though the brand has not yet revealed what features and controls can be adjusted here.
