Cost of living concerns have many of us feeling the pinch. Luckily for Aussies, Dodo has cut prices on four of its most popular NBN plans, giving new and returning customers the chance to save up to $138 over six months.
Savvy shoppers can jump on the following deals between now and September 30, 2025:
- NBN 25: $53.90 per month for six months (then $68.90 per month ongoing)
- NBN 50: $62.90 per month for six months (then $83.90 per month ongoing)
- NBN 100: $65.90 per month for six months (then $88.90 per month ongoing)
- NBN 250: $78.90 per month for six months (then $98.90 per month ongoing)
These offers are available to new Dodo customers, or former customers returning to the telco. Keep in mind the actual speed and plan available at your address will depend on the NBN technology type used to service your location. Terms and conditions apply – be sure to check the critical information summary and NBN key factsheets for your plan.
Dodo doesn’t charge set-up fees to new customers (besides the purchase of an upfront modem, which is completely optional!). But if you’re connecting to the NBN for the first time in a new development, you may be subject to NBN Co’s $300 connection fee, as well as an extra $297 charge for additional installation.
If you’re hesitant about changing NBN providers, the process can be done in a few hours: simply decide on your new plan, sign up online or over the phone, connect your new modem/router (if applicable) and Dodo will finish the process. Then cancel your old plan and put the savings to work. You may want to pay off debt, add to your savings buffer, think about some micro-investing options or spend it.
Which Dodo NBN plan is right for me?
The good news is that all Dodo NBN plans include unlimited data each month, so you won’t need to stress about how much you’re downloading! However, you’ll have to determine which NBN speed tier is best suited to your household, based on what is available at your address.
That number next to ‘NBN’ in the plan name indicates the typical evening speed (7pm – 11pm) in megabits per second (Mbps) – the bigger the number, the faster your plan. Faster plans, such as NBN 100 or NBN 250, are ideal for homes with multiple people online at once, or who tend to use their internet connection for more intensive activities like streaming movies, video calling, or online gaming.
The hack to finding the best plan for you is picking the option that’s fast enough for your needs, but at the lowest price. You should also be sure to check the ‘typical evening speeds’ listed for each plan, as this will give you an indication of how fast that plan is during the extra-busy 7pm to 11pm peak period when the network may be congested.
If you’re weighing up your need for speed, Dodo’s current monthly discount gives you six months to try out a faster tier for less – without being locked in when the offer expires.
One thing to keep in mind: if you decide to add a modem to your plan and pay it off in instalments over 12 months, you’ll need to pay the remaining balance owing if you decide to cancel your plan early.
What else should I know about Dodo NBN?
Dodo’s ethos is all about good value, as well as reliable service. The telco received four stars for overall satisfaction in Canstar Blue’s 2024 Most Satisfied Customers – NBN Providers ratings, along with four stars for value for money.
You can bring your own NBN-compatible modem to your Dodo plan or pick up a brand new one at checkout. Dodo’s standard Essential Modem is $99.90 upfront (or $8.90 per month for 12 months), while the more advanced Family Modem is $159.90 upfront ($13.90 per month for 12 months) and is suited for high-speed NBN.
All Dodo NBN plans are contract-free, with no setup costs (unless you’ve living at an address connecting to the NBN for the first time). You can also monitor your usage and account any time via the MyDodo online portal.
If you’re looking for a one-stop telco shop, Dodo also offers a range of SIM-only postpaid mobile plans, with 4G and 5G coverage on the Optus network. All plans include unlimited standard national talk and text, plus no excess data charges.
Can I bundle Dodo NBN with energy?
While Dodo is best known as a broadband provider, the retailer also offers home energy plans. If you’re in New South Wales or Victoria, bundling your NBN plan with Dodo Power and Gas plans can save you up to $10 off your internet costs each month. If you’re a resident of South East Queensland, you can save up to $5 monthly by bundling with electricity.
You’ll need to sign up for both energy and NBN in the same name on the same account to qualify, but the offer can be stacked with Dodo’s latest discount deal to save you up to $33 on NBN each month for six months.
Dodo’s electricity plans tend to be competitive in each state it services, but be sure to compare usage and supply rates from a range of electricity and gas providers to determine if bundling is right for you.
