What NBN plans does Telstra offer?
Of all the Telstra internet plans on offer, the telco’s NBN plans are perhaps the most popular product, especially considering that the NBN rollout is complete in most cities and regional hubs. New customers will also be supplied with a Telstra WiFi modem on month-to-month plans, although cancelling your plan before 24 months will require you to return your modem or pay a non-return fee.
When signing up to Telstra NBN, you’ll have a choice between several different speed tiers — NBN 25 (also known as Basic), NBN 50 (also known as Standard) and NBN 100 (also known as Fast), plus speed add-ons of NBN 250 (also known as Superfast) and NBN 1000 (also known as Ultrafast) — with unlimited data available on all plans. Access to certain speed tiers also depends on your location and home NBN connection.
Telstra NBN plans prices
As Telstra offers NBN plans across a range of speed tiers — starting at NBN 25 speeds and going up to NBN 1000 — the Telstra NBN plans’ prices vary between each speed tier. Telstra is typically a more expensive NBN provider, so you’ll find NBN 25 plans start at around $90 per month and its NBN 1000 prices go up to around $150 per month. Keep in mind that NBN wholesale prices can change and Telstra is known to adjust its NBN plan prices accordingly.
Telstra NBN speeds
While Telstra offers plans with most of the NBN speed tiers — only skipping the NBN 12 tier and NBN 100/40 — the real-world experience you get with a Telstra NBN plan will vary. NBN providers list the typical evening speed alongside plans to give customers an idea of what kind of speeds they’re likely to experience in the busy evening peak between 7pm and 11pm.
However, each household will be different, so these typical evening speeds are meant to give you a guide on how a provider will usually perform when the network is at its busiest. You can read our guide on typical evening speeds to find out more and check Telstra’s NBN speeds.
Telstra NBN home phone bundles
All NBN plans from Telstra come with a standard home phone pack which includes unlimited standard calls to local, national, Australian mobile numbers and ’13’ numbers. You’ll also get 30 minutes of international calls included. If you need more than the basic inclusions, or you just want a standard home phone service, Telstra offers a home phone plan with the same local call inclusions, but with discounted international calls.

FAQs about Telstra NBN
Telstra offers a wide range of internet and mobile services, and while it might be better known for its mobile network, it still comes out on top for NBN market share. The ACCC’s NBN Wholesale Market Indicators Report in March 2024 found that Telstra had 39.9% of the NBN market — making it the largest NBN provider in the country (ahead of TPG with 20.7%). However, Telstra has experienced a drop in customers as in previous reports as far back as 2019, Telstra had around 50% of the NBN market share.
