Superloop vs Aussie Broadband NBN plans and prices
Aussie Broadband is one of Australia’s most popular NBN providers — especially among the smaller and lesser known providers — even if it’s not the cheapest on the market. When it comes to NBN market share, Aussie Broadband has grown its share considerably in the past few years to make it one of the biggest of the smaller providers and has even launched its own budget-focused NBN provider, Buddy Telco.
However, Superloop — which also owns Exetel — is becoming a bigger name in the NBN space. Where large providers like Telstra are losing NBN market share each quarter, Superloop is a smaller telco that has seen increased market share as customers turn away from the big brands.
Superloop offers a wide range of month-to-month NBN plans across most speed (including both NBN 100/20 and NBN 100/40 plans). Plans skip the slowest NBN 12 speed, instead starting at NBN 25 and going up to NBN 1000. You’re also able to bundle either a pay-as-you-go call pack or unlimited call pack for an additional monthly cost.
You’ll also have the option to either BYO modem or add on your choice of modem to your plan. If you stay connected to your plan for a certain period of time, such as 24 months, some of the modem options will be included free. However, if you cancel your plan before those 24 months, you’ll need to pay off the remainder of your device cost. Other modems may need to be paid for upfront.
Aussie Broadband offers even more NBN speeds than Superloop. You’ll get the full suite of speed tiers, starting at NBN 12 and going up to NBN 1000 — even including both NBN 100/20 and NBN 100/40 plans. Aussie Broadband even includes its own speed plan between NBN 50 and NBN 100, with 75Mbps download and 20Mbps upload speeds.
Plans are all month-to-month and you’re able to either BYO modem, or add your choice of modem on to your plan for an upfront cost. You can also add on your choice of home phone pack, including a pay-as-you-go pack for no extra cost, or a standard or international call pack for an additional monthly cost.
In addition to its standard NBN plans, Aussie Broadband also offers a range of Seniors NBN plans, which are on the NBN 12 speed tier and either come with limited data or a call pack added on. There’s also a range of ‘Pro’ plans, specifically designed for gamers or users with fast internet needs, which include faster upload speeds than the standard NBN plans along with a Static IP.
Aussie Broadband vs Superloop cheapest NBN plans
The cheapest plan from Superloop or Aussie Broadband will be the plan on the lowest speed tier. In Superloop’s case, it’s the NBN 25 plan, whereas for Aussie Broadband, it’s the NBN 12 plan. Despite being on a slower speed tier, Aussie Broadband’s NBN 12 plan is a similar price to Superloop’s NBN 25 plan. Aussie Broadband is often one of the more expensive providers on the market, however with a reputation for good customer service, some may feel the extra price is worth paying.

Superloop vs Aussie Broadband NBN speeds
Both Superloop and Aussie Broadband offer a wide range of NBN speed tiers including both NBN 100/20 and NBN 100/40 speeds, where most providers only offer NBN 100/20. However, Aussie Broadband offers a wider range of speeds than Superloop with the addition of the NBN 12 and its own tailored speed tiers.
Each provider lists a ‘typical evening speed’ for each available speed tier, which describes the average download speed achieved by customers between the peak evening times of 7pm and 11pm. This is a good indication of the real-world speeds your plan may achieve during busy periods, but keep in mind that speeds can vary due to connection type, local network traffic and other factors. Superloop vs Aussie Broadband bundles and extras
Aussie Broadband no longer offers entertainment bundles, however you can bundle a mobile phone plan with your service in addition to modem and home phone bundles.
Superloop also keeps things rather simple with similar bundling options, and also offers its My Speed Boost service. On eligible plans, you can access five free speed upgrades each month, which could be useful if you find your internet needs change from time to time. For example, if you’re on an NBN 50 plan, you’ll get a boost up to the NBN 100/40 speed tier for a full day. Keep in mind that the free speed boosts aren’t available on all plans, and any additional speed boosts will cost extra.
