AGL Netflix Plan

How to bundle your Netflix and electricity plan with AGL

Movie marathoners and penny pinchers unite! AGL is offering you the chance to bundle the cost of your home power bill and Netflix streaming.

The utilities powerhouse has launched its AGL Netflix plan to Aussie households, which sees customers accessing Netflix Standard with ads as part of their electricity plan.

The cost of the streaming service is included into the electricity rates of the plan and according to AGL, this equates to about $84 RRP of Netflix value each year.

For customers looking for ad-free streaming, additional Netflix tiers are available for sign up; however, these will incur extra costs to your plan. At the time of writing, these are $10 extra a month for Netflix Standard and $16 extra per month for Netflix Premium, in addition to your electricity costs.

The AGL Netflix Plan is a variable rate offer available to eligible households across New South Wales, Victoria, south-east Queensland and South Australia. It is open to both new and existing AGL and Netflix customers.

Please note, customers will need to agree to e-billing to be eligible for this offer.

For the full terms and conditions on this offer it is best to visit the AGL website.

How does the AGL Netflix plan work?

To access Netflix through your AGL plan, you’ll firstly need to sign up to the AGL Netflix plan in your area.

Once you have signed up, you’ll need to wait for your connection date to receive confirmation of your Netflix subscription. At this point you should receive an email with the steps listed to activate your Netflix account.

If you are an existing Netflix customer, you’ll also need to follow the steps listed in your activation email from AGL in order to receive your benefits. You shouldn’t need to cancel your current account to access this offer. According to the AGL website, signing up through its confirmation email should pause your current subscription and avoid you being billed twice.

The AGL Netflix plan is an ongoing contract so once connected, you shouldn’t be required to renew your Netflix account or electricity plan with AGL.

You can however, change the Netflix tier you are on at any time. Just keep in mind that this change may come at an additional cost.
