Big Little Lies Season 2 Main Characters

How to watch Big Little Lies in Australia

It was one of the biggest TV shows to hit screens in 2017 and now Big Little Lies is back for a second season. Based on the novel of the same name by Aussie author Liane Moriarty, the first season was set to be a stand alone miniseries; but after the show’s huge success, it was announced that Big Little Lies would return for a second season.

Big Little Lies stars Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon (who also serve as executive producers) along with a host of other Hollywood A-listers, giving this series some serious star power. Season one won a string of awards in 2017, including Golden Globes for Best Miniseries and acting awards for Kidman, Laura Dern and Alexander Skarsgård. With such a big first season, the second season certainly has a lot to live up to.

What can we expect from Season 2?

The HBO comedic drama is set in Monterey, California (although the book is set on Sydney’s Northern Beaches) and follows the complicated and somewhat messy lives of a group of women whose children all attend the same school.

Season two deals with the aftermath of the season one finale as Celeste, Madeline, Jane, Renata and Bonnie seem determined to keep the truth about Celeste’s husband a secret. The incomparable Meryl Streep joins the season two cast as Mary Louise Wright, Celeste’s mother-in-law who is looking for answers over her son’s death. From the trailer, it looks like Mary will be a force to be reckoned with as she works to untangle the web of lies.

Catch up on Season 1 of Big Little Lies

If you haven’t watched the first season or want to catch up before the season two premiere, you can catch up through the Foxtel Go and Foxtel Now apps, with season one still available to watch.

Both Fetch TV and Telstra TV have season one available to purchase for $2.99 per episode, or $19.99 for all seven episodes. You can also buy season one through Apple iTunes or the Google Play store, which is good news if you’re looking to watch it on your device and on the go. You can also access the Foxtel Now app through Telstra TV, making it easy to stream your Foxtel Now subscription through your TV.

How can I get Foxtel?

You can of course sign up with Foxtel directly through the Pay TV giant, but if you’re currently looking into a new broadband plan, you might prefer to bundle Foxtel with a new Telstra NBN plan.

You could find that a Foxtel and Telstra NBN bundle might be a bit cheaper than going through Foxtel direct. While Foxtel does provide its own range of broadband and entertainment bundles, it’s worth comparing the offerings from both providers to see where you might get the best value for your money.

In order to watch Big Little Lies through Foxtel from Telstra, you’ll need to sign up to the Entertainment + Drama pack, which you can get for an additional $30 bundled with your chosen NBN plan. If you’d rather Telstra TV, you can pick up a broadband plan bundled with Telstra TV for an additional $9 per month, with subscriptions services an additional separate cost.

The following table includes Telstra broadband plans that can be bundled with a Telstra TV box or Foxtel package. You’ll be able to choose from existing entertainment + internet bundles, or build your own bundle with your choice of Foxtel package. This table includes links to a referral partner.
