Get discounted internet, free streaming and bonus rewards points with Origin

Origin Energy’s latest offer promises savings on internet plans, plus a free streaming subscription AND bonus rewards points. Sound too good to be true? Read on to see what you can score.

The energy giant’s ‘Spring’ campaign, which launches this week and runs to the end of September, is available to new Origin residential internet customers only. Discounts of up to $20 a month for six months are available on a range of NBN or Opticomm broadband plans. The per-month discount increases to $30 a month for internet plans that are bundled with an energy plan. 

As well as savings on internet bills, Origin is throwing in a free 12-month subscription to Paramount+ for new customers who don’t already have a subscription to the streaming platform, plus 5,000 Everyday Rewards points.  Paramount+ streaming subscriptions usually start at $6.99 a month, while at the usual rate of $1 spend equals 10 Everyday Rewards points, the bonus points are worth $500.

What should I know about Origin’s internet discounts?

Origin’s dela runs from August 15 through to September 30, and is available on all speed tiers offered on the telco’s NBN and OptiComm fibre products. New customers can score the following discounts

  • 25 Mbps (megabits per second) NBN and Opticomm plans: $5 off per month for the first six months.
  • 50 and 75Mbps NBN and Opticomm plans: $10 off per month for the first six months.
  • 100, 100+, 250 and 1000Mbps NBN and Opticomm plans: $20 off per month for the first six months.
  • Added discount: Save an additional $10 per month ongoing when bundled with an Origin energy plan.

  • Paramount+ subscription: Free Paramount+ Standard Monthly plan for new subscribers for 12 months. Customers must use the code provided by Origin to access the complementary subscription. The regular subscription price of $9.99 a month will be charged at the end of the 12-month free period.
  • Everyday Rewards: Bonus 5,000 Everyday Rewards points after linking an Everyday Rewards account at the time of internet plan purchase. The points will be loaded to the Everyday Rewards account about 45 days later.

Bundle with Origin Energy and save

Customers who also have an electricity or gas account with Origin will save an additional $10 per month on any broadband plan for as long as they stay connected. Origin offers electricity and gas across NSW, VIC, south-east QLD, SA and the ACT, with gas also available in WA.
