Motorola Razr phones

Hello nostalgia! Motorola’s new 40 series includes two Motorola Razr flip phones

Flip phone nostalgia is in full swing, thanks to the latest announcement from iconic flip phone brand, Motorola. The company is pulling out all the stops with its new 40 series, featuring not one, but two flip phones in its iconic Razr family — the Motorola Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra. Great news if you’ve been keen on a flip phone, but haven’t been blown away by what’s currently on the market.

Not only are these new phones packed full of great features and flip phone nostalgia, but thanks to its ongoing partnership with Pantone and general focus on creating devices that look fantastic, Motorola’s newest phones combine stunning designs and colours with great quality tech.

“No one knows more about foldable devices than Motorola. We invented the first flip phone and launched the first Razr in the early 2000s,” Kurt Bonnici, Head of Motorola Greater Asia Pacific said.

“Razr quickly became an icon; a fashion statement and something of a status symbol. As we continue to innovate, the Razr continues to bridge that gap between technology and fashion. We understand that consumers are changing the way they use their devices and also that innovative design and form factor are paramount to enhancing their experience.”

In addition to the two foldable Razr phones, Motorola has also announced the latest incarnation of its premium Edge series, the Motorola Edge 40. Motorola will be donating from the sales of the Viva Magenta versions of the Motorola Edge 40 and Razr 40 Ultra to the Breast Cancer Network Australia.

The stand-out release from the new Motorola 40 series is the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra. As the name suggests, it’s more than your average flip phone, with the best-of-the-best that Motorola has to offer in foldable phone technology.

Thanks to its Flex View technology, you’re able to keep the Razr 40 Ultra folded at multiple angles, perfect for a range of activities — from hands-free video streaming to hands-free photos. Unfolded, you’ll get a 6.9-inch main display, and on the back is a 3.6-inch cover display — outsizing the OPPO Find N2 Flip’s 3.26-inch cover display, which was previously the largest in the Australian market.

Motorola has also made even more of a feature of its cover screen. You’ll be able to take photos and record videos, personalise your display and respond to messages. However, Motorola has taken the functionality a step further, allowing you to play games, watch videos, make payments and access your favourite apps all on the cover display. Plus, thanks to Motorola’s partnership with Spotify, you’ll be able to get instant access to your favourite music and recommendations with the dedicated Spotify panel. All in all, making true use out of the cover screen.

The Razr 40 Ultra hasn’t shied away from the stylish flip phones of old, thanks to its ultra-sleek and lightweight design and fun colour range. There’s a classic Infinite Black colour option, a crisp and cool Glacier Blue and, as a continuation of the partnership with Pantone, you can get your Razr 40 Ultra in Pantone’s 2023 colour of the year, Viva Magenta. Both the black and blue versions feature Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on the front and back of the phone, while Viva Magenta features Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on the front and a sleek vegan leather on the back.
